FALL '22
Behind the Prints
In building our fall wardrobe, the design team took care to balance the season’s classic neutrals with bold, beautiful prints in a dreamy new palette. Here, our print designer Aubrey takes us behind-the-scenes of the collection’s most special patterns.
Chocolate Plaid
“We’ve loved integrating classic checks into our Bodie and Bennett totes and knew we wanted to add a new iteration of the motif for the season. The result, this intricate crosshatch Chocolate Plaid, was inspired by a vintage tablecloth sourced by Lesley, our Design Director. We were so happy with the print that we wove it into our ready-to-wear designs, too!”
Cream Paisley Floral
“In creating this fall floral, we were inspired by vintage paisley prints, adjusting the scale and palette of some favorite motifs to best fit our silhouettes. The delicate linework and smooth curves of the finished product contrast so nicely with our more geometric gingham and checks.”
Tan/Blush Nova Floral
“I originally created this hand-painted pattern for our summer collection, but the painterly floral translated so beautifully into our fall palette, the hues for which we lifted directly from an arrangement that Jessie made for our Prince Street shop. We printed the motif on a lovely open lace, making it feel even more sophisticated and elegant.”
