Venice in a Carry-On

My mom and I took a trip to Venice last weekend to visit my son, who has been studying there. Because of the logistics, the water, and tight connections we each packed only a carry-on. I had to be selective with my wardrobe, bringing the most versatile, easy pieces. Take a peek at my whirlwind wardrobe here!

1. A "Wow" Outfit

For a “wow” outfit I packed my Janey skirt (made of rows of lace stitched together — it is SO special) with our pink linen Suzie top. I chose to wear this the night we attended the opera. I paired the outfit with my Clover espadrilles which were one of only two pairs of shoes I brought on the trip! (Red is sold out but I also own these in Nutmeg and love them so much).

2. A Two-Way Top

The Suzie top was amazing. I wore it to the opera and then I wore it paired with jeans out on a day of sightseeing. It has so many special details, like a crochet edge and heart broderie, and I love its peplum.

3. A Workhorse Dress

The Darla Mini Dress was a total no-brainer for me. It’s so comfortable and chic! I knew I could dress it up or down. I wore this dress two separate times on my trip. Such a workhorse style!

4. Neutral Separates

Two other pieces I packed (that I didn’t get photos of) are our Marta top and Demi pants. Demi was one of only two pairs of pants I brought on this trip. They’re easy to style, and I feel so chic while I’m wearing them.

5. A Statement Tee

On my last day of sightseeing I wore my Demi pants again with our Nikki Chasin Florida Woman tee. I love this top Nikki created using our gingham fabric. It’s cheeky and sophisticated at the same time. Lots of people came up to tell me they loved it!
