Vineyard vows

Indie & Matt

When it came time for their "I do," Indie and Matt traded city skies for mountain views, traveling from Auckland to Queenstown for a wedding under the stars. The bride wore a custom corset and skirt — cleverly designed for three different looks throughout the day — paired with our Margot heels, a choice made a full year before the ceremony. Read on for every detail behind their stunning New Zealand nuptials.

"We both love the mountains and Queenstown in general – the air always feels so fresh down there. We wanted to be out of Auckland (where we live), but still in New Zealand, so heading south was an easy choice. The grounds at Peregrine Wines were the perfect blank canvas for us to execute our vision of an al fresco dining experience, with our friends seated at one long table amongst the trees. Oh, and their wine is some of the best we’ve tried!"

"I have always loved bows — my wedding earrings were bows, I also had a big clip on bow as part of my second look — so when I spied the Margot heels online (a year out from our wedding) I immediately knew they were the ones. I was so excited to finally wear them. They were so fun on the day, matched my looks perfectly, and I know I’ll wear them lots in the future."

"From the beginning I knew that I wanted a two-piece design with a corset and skirt because I loved the idea of re-wearing the corset on our anniversary in years to come — I actually imagined it with jeans and my Margot heels! So cute. I liked the idea of having a timeless look for our ceremony but then being able to have fun with it afterwards for our reception and dancing hours. I worked with a New Zealand designer, Brooke Tyson Ritual. Brooke custom made everything so that I could have three quite different looks, all while keeping the same corset on all day and night. From internal ties to hidden poppers to feathers and fun accessories that were easy to add and remove, Brooke understood my vision completely."

"The florals by Michele Coomey Floral were one one of my favorite details and she executed our vision perfectly. Two of my closest friends shared the celebrant responsibilities which was so special and made me feel very relaxed. I absolutely loved our dark wood bar with the giant satin bow (the bow theme continues!), our aperol spritz tower, dusting our pavlova cake with icing instead of a traditional cake cutting moment, alfresco dining with a centre garden underneath fairy lights. I could go on, I truly loved every detail of our day."

"I truly loved every detail of our day."

"We had a wedding planner and stylist, Alexandra Kate Creative, and she was absolutely fantastic. Alex and her team went above and beyond to make our day even better than our mood board!"

"I absolutely loved walking down the aisle, finally seeing Matt and all of our special people. I was so present and excited. Looking back, I think that has to be my absolute favorite moment. Other stand-outs were my husbands vows, the speeches made by our closest family and friends, dancing, and ending the night with sparklers outside with everyone."
